With Eyes on You

Weekly Inspiration for week of 29 October - 4 November 2022

Cat's eyes from a neighbor's window, reminded me of Jesus' watchful care.
Cat's eyes from a neighbor's window, reminded me of Jesus' watchful care.

Cat’s eyes glowed,

From the upper story.

They followed our movements,

To the left, to the right.

As we walked,

They kept up with our paces,

From now, until,

Halloween night.

But as we passed,

I was thinking and pondering,

There is One,

Who watches,

Over you, over me.

And how thankful I am,

That He is righteous,

And holy,

For You, Oh God,

Keep Your watchful eye,

Upon us,

Now, and for all eternity.

Everyday, whether we are walking, joyful, calm or fearful—God is ever aware of us. Psalm 139 assures us that there is nowhere we can go that is out of His reach. The Lord knows our whereabouts, when we sleep and when we rise. He knows our needs and that we need a few treats along the way. I’m so thankful for His constant, abiding care. This keeps my eyes trained upon Him! I hope yours will be too!

“Seek the Lord; yes, seek his strength And seek his face untiringly.” 1 Chronicles 16:11 TLB

God’s eyes upon us, and the promise of His attention and affection … encourage us to seek His face, His presence, and keep our eyes trained upon Him at all times.

Here are a few places to ponder God’s watchfulness: Psalm 32:8, Psalm 121:8, Psalm 34:15,

Psalm 17:8, Psalm 139:2-3
