The Limbs are like Arms of Praise

“So here I am in the place of worship, eyes open, drinking in your strength and glory. In your generous love I am really living at last! My lips brim praises like fountains. I bless you every time I take a breath; My arms wave like banners of praise to you.” Psalm 63:4 MSG

We were taking a walk in a park when I saw tree limbs in an interesting way. My first photo was taken while we were on an elevated boardwalk. The boughs were at eye level. In the second, as you can tell, I was under the canopy of Autumn’s finery. But in both instances, the limbs appeared to me as arms—spread out—as if lifting adoration to their Creator. And in that moment, I did the same.

Dear Lord, I love how creation shows its adoration for You, its Maker. How can I not do the same? So with hands lifted (in prayer, thanksgiving, reverence, and honor), I exalt You—in church and in these places in nature. Because in both types of settings, You are indeed to be praised! Amen.

If God formed limbs that offer Him praise, who are we, to not give Him our wholehearted devotion and a demonstrative display that we seek His presence and communion and that we long to worship the One true God?!

Here are a few spots worthy of meditation: Psalm 119:48, Psalm 141:2, Psalm 134:2
