The Exultation of Creation

Fall sunflowers adding to Autumn's glory
Fall sunflowers adding to Autumn's glory

Last week, we took a drive to Wisconsin’s apple country. It was a beautiful, crisp day. Here is one of the special scenes that we found very near the orchard. Late sunflowers grew, adding their blooms to Autumn’s glory. We stopped to appreciate their loveliness, and their golden heads lifted upward as if in praise.

Lord, thank You for the scenery in every season that proclaims You as Creator. Thank You for the colors and variety and landscapes that roll, rise, and are like tapestries to display Your majesty. And thank You for drawing us—through Your Word, through creation, through our senses. We, like the sunflowers, adore You and lift our hands to exult Your holy name and great renown. Amen.

The things that God fashions are constantly—speaking, painting, flowing, blooming, and teaching us. They echo—every truth of God’s Word to our hearts—so that we respond with worship. Will you adore them in order to exult Him?

Here are a few verses of exultation for your meditation: Romans 1:20, Psalm 19:1, Isaiah 55:12, Revelation 4:11, Jeremiah 32:17, Romans 8:!9, Psalm 90:2
