I loved finding this message one morning as we were taking a walk. What a sweet encouragement from the heart of a child. “Smile. You are Beautiful.” I’d love to meet the young artist who left such a lovely message for others to find. These words remind me of the lovingkindness of Jesus.
Do you need reminding of what Jesus says about you? I’ve listed some verses that give us His treasured truths to pour into our hearts.
From Psalm 139:14, “You are “fearfully and wonderfully made.”
From John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever (insert your name here) believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
From Galatians 2:20, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.”
From Jeremiah 31:3, Jesus says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.”
From 2 Corinthians 6:18, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
From John 15:15, “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”
From Ephesians 2:10, “We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.”
From 1 Peter 2:9, “You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession.”
From 1 John 3:1, “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God.”
From Joshua 1:9, “The Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
These are some of my favorite verses. They are powerful when you need assurance to feel the love of God nearly to your soul. They are also helpful when you feel devalued by others. What Jesus says about us—is what matters. And I’m with the young one … Smile, You are Beautiful or Handsome—especially if Jesus lives in your soul. Let Him shine through you and keep these promises close at hand. Then, praise God for His love that’s steadfast and eternal.
Dear Lord, thank You for the places in Scripture that echo the sentiment of this child’s words. Thank You for speaking directly to our hearts via these precious promises and Your Holy Spirit. May they cover our steps. And may we share their truths as willingly as art on the sidewalk. Amen.
