I loved how the trees in the foreground, appeared as if they had been sketched upon an artist’s watercolor painting, to display the majesty of Autumn. Already the season is showing its changes. As limbs drop their leafy jewels, to me, they become arms of praise.
Into every life,
There is vivid color.
Into every soul,
Come times that are gray and dull.
We are like this landscape,
Displaying subtle shades in every hue.
But the true question is,
Can Jesus be seen,
At all times,
In me, in you?
Into every life,
There is fullness, wholeness.
Into every soul,
There is barrenness, restlessness.
We are like this landscape,
Cloaked in season’s change.
But are we content,
When He,
Our circumstances,
Rearrange?
Into every life,
There is a panorama.
Into every soul,
There is depth and breadth.
We are like this landscape,
That is ever, transformed.
Will we lift our arms,
Toward heaven,
In the fair weather,
In the storm?
“I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High. … The Lord reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment. He rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:1-2, 7-10 NIV
Dear Lord, day by day and season by season, may You paint Your qualities and promises like jewels upon my heart. And as You view the landscape of my life as a whole, may You see vivid color that displays You, even when the circumstances are dull and gray. For then I will have lived my life, with a depth and a breadth, that gives You honor and praise. Amen.
Our lives look like a sketch, and watercolor painting.
Our days are marked with each, yet overshadowed by the Son.
This is the portrait that He longs for; the life in Christ, gives Him glory, everyday.
