This was the scene one Thanksgiving Sunday in the church that we attended in Virginia. Yes, your vision is correct—there are cards strewn across the steps. Why? Because as we gave thanks this weekend—we were invited to bring a request or write a name—for prayer—for a need, for Salvation, for healing, to offer the Lord praise.
It was amazing to see the response. It was beautiful to see participants rise from their seats with a heart to share. And it was precious to come together as a church family before our King—with everything.
I am so thankful that we have a God Who is always available, always aware of us, always listening, always ready to come to our aid, always ready to forgive, restore, heal, love, care and direct our steps!
I hope this week finds you with a list of gratitudes! But I also bring you a challenge: whether you take out a few cards or simply do a mental check-list … ask the Lord to bring someone to mind who needs His gift of love, Salvation, healing, restoration. Ask Him if He can use you. Then pause, pray and give Him praise—for every blessing. For everything/everyone/His Word/His nearness and love—are all gifts to treasure. And God adores when we kneel at His feet, or on the steps of a church, to bring it all to His Holy alter.
Dear Lord, my heart is filled with gratitude for all You are to me, for all the ways that You’re faithful to me. Today, I bring ________________ before Your throne asking for __________________________ on their behalf. Thank You in advance for hearing and answering according to Your Will. I’m Your willing servant, Lord—to pray, to give, to act—speak Lord, for I am listening, and ready to obey. Amen.
