Let there Be Light

This photo is an illustration of the sun's power to shine through fog and bring light to the new day!
Early morning sunrise through the fog

For the Week of April 30 - May 6 2022

This photo of dawn rising through the morning fog, gives us the contrast and illustration, of light forming from darkness. Sunlight streams through the trees in the foreground, and moves upward to envelop the atmosphere. It cannot help but embrace everything it touches.

Genesis 1:3 tells us: "And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light." (NIV)

God “said.” God spoke. With one word—the shadows lifted. Darkness was removed. All that was shapeless, fathomless—departed.

In what area do you need God to speak? In what space do you need God to shed His light? In what area do you need to see His amazing miraculous power, come alive? In what circumstance do you need God’s Word to speak to your heart?

From this short verse, we witness God’s power, displayed. We view a miracle of creation—the separation of darkness by the invasion of light. And we find God “said” (spoke, only needed to utter one word) and what He proclaimed—happened. Whatever He says will be fulfilled. This is relevant to His faithfulness, His promises, and to our smallest need.

Trust what God says. It was true in the beginning! It’s still true today. It will be true for all eternity.

Dear Lord, let there be light in my ________________ to reveal Your promise of love to me. Amen.
