2 P&P Weekly Blog for 11-17 November 2023
We had gone to one of the National Cemetery locations that are located here in Wisconsin. We were paying our respects to the Veterans who have been laid to rest at this site. They have fought through many battles—some for our nation’s freedom and some like ours—the ones that occur within.
But one day recently, when I was struggling with an issue, the Lord whispered these words to my heart, “lay it to rest.” Meaning, just like putting it in a grave … give it to Me, bury it, forgive, release it to My care; the shadows ceased, peace descended. It was like a flag of victory was raised in my soul.
The Lord of All knows our greatest weaknesses. He knows our strengths, faults, and internal battles—won and lost. As a Veteran of earth, He knows how the war is waged, with the enemy always on our heels, always armed and dangerous. But God also gives us defenses: His Word, prayer, the company of His angels that are round-about-us, always.
When life is too tough to handle, give it to Jesus. See 1 Peter 5:7.
When the thing on your mind feels like it’s conquering you—lay it to rest. See 2 Corinthians 10:5.
When anger or unforgiveness invades, bring out the sword of the Spirit. See Ephesians 6:11-18.
Fight the enemy close to the ground—on your knees—to rise up with God’s power as His warrior. See James 4:7-8.
Let the stone tablet of God’s love be written upon your soul. See Deuteronomy 11:18-19.
Pay the Lord your respect and honor daily. See Psalm 29:2.
Thank Jesus for the freedom He gave you at the Cross. See 2 Corinthians 9:15.
Shadows are never present unless there is Light; trust that He is above and beneath you, on your right and left. See John 8:12.
Jesus already won the battle; fight on, dear child, you are clothed in righteousness. See Isaiah 61:10.
Lay “it” to rest, and let God resurrect His power, grace, and love from within. It is in our surrender to Jesus that we gain the victory.
