We were walking in a wildflower meadow, when I watched a butterfly light and sup pollen, from “Queen Anne’s Lace.” What I noticed is that her body was fully extended—what we might refer to as being prostrate—(humbly bowed) in order to receive this life-giving, flight-enhancing nectar.
I know in my own journey to walk with Jesus, I find this to be true—in bowing, in seeking, in communion—I find God’s Word, presence and nearness—filling, supplying, lifting me. This is where we find His strength. It’s where we are filled with joy, and meet His peace to receive rest. This is where the scars are healed and where He displays beauty to our souls.
Some people view wildflowers as weeds. Some, see scars as negative. But the “pause”—the place and willingness to become prostrate before the Lord—is where we often find Jesus’ love, wholeness and grace. It may be, where your flight, begins! Do not be afraid to humbly bow, for Jesus may choose to raise some new dream, or hope within you. It may be the place from which, He propels you to new heights. Or to greater depths of obedience and faith.
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” James 4:10 (AKJV)
Do you pause long enough, for God to fill you? Will you bow, so that His Spirit, can rise? Will you sup, so that He can provide you with the strength to follow where He leads?
