Hide Me

Weekly Inspiration for 4-11 June 2022

We were taking a walk when we found this baby bunny. As we came upon it, he scampered into the rock-wall that was nearby. To me, it conveyed the image of Psalm 32:7, “You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.” This smallest of God’s creatures “knew” where to find cover, refuge.

A baby bunny ran for cover (was hidden) in the rocks.

Sometimes, I think God wants us to run to Him, and perhaps He wonders why we don’t “know” or remember, that He is our safety, our “strong tower” (Proverbs 18:10). Could it be that we forget His faithful care, soon after He provides for us? Do we forget to claim Him as our Rock and Refuge?

This baby bunny has it right, it ran for cover. Lord, that’s my desire too. Thank You for being my protection, and the One Who provides for my every need. Hiding myself in You, brings me great peace. And in Your arms, I know complete love and acceptance. Amen.

If you find yourself between a rock and hard place, cry out to Jesus. Run to the shelter of His grace. That’s how you can experience deliverance. And you may even hear the echo of the hymn … Rock of Ages … lingering in your mind. Lord, may we always “hide ourselves in Thee.”

Here are a few definitions of the word "hide" that are worth noting: conceal, to place a hedge around (physically/spiritually), to avert one’s gaze from shame or guilt (sounds like a version of forgiveness), refuge, a place of respite, secreted (the Lord is our greatest confidant!)
