Someone had carved,
A heart upon this tree.
It was a token of love,
Bestowed to one another,
And left as a gift for you and me.
Someone had carved,
A heart upon this tree.
That’s exactly what Jesus did,
When He gave His life,
Upon Calvary.
Jesus made an indelible mark upon time, the culture of His day, and all of eternity. The fully divine One stepped down from heaven to be wrapped in humanity.
Why? Because He wanted to be approachable, to be known and loved as He knows and loves us. He wanted to transform our hearts with His love. He wanted us to know that He would weather any storm and demonstrate His humility so that we would emulate this quality. He paid our sin debt by offering us the gift of Salvation, which makes us right—whole—and sanctified before the Father.
What does your heart need today? Healing? Restoration from scars? To meet Jesus? To surrender to His Will and plan for your life? Greater faith and courage to share His love with others? He’ll meet you where you are—with affection, grace, and forgiveness.
Jesus loves you personally, completely, and with a “never let you go”—kind of attention and awareness.
From God’s Heart:
Dear Child, Your name and face were indelibly etched in My mind as I gave My life in your place. Your sins were forgiven at Calvary. My grace and mercy covered your wrongdoing with My compassion and intercession. Take My hand. Let Me be Your Guide and dearest Companion. Walk with Me and obey My Word and directives. I will never leave your side. Surrender your heart—everything—to My keeping. I’ll hold you in My hands and call you—precious and beloved. My blood has redeemed you—now let the mark of My Salvation—pave the way for someone else to come to know My love. Amen.
Study God’s Love for yourself: Romans 5:8, John 3:16-17, Romans 8:38-39, Zephaniah 3:17, 1 John 3:1, & Jeremiah 31:3. These verses served as the inspiration for this writing and will invite you into a quiet space with the Savior.
So, how can a heart that’s been carved upon a tree—demonstrate God’s love for you and me? Because when Jesus makes His mark upon a heart—it is a sign of His forever kind of love—which lasts eternally!
